What?
RYDF works with young people who are Rohingya refugees from Arakan state in Burma. RYDF provides supplemental education in areas of health care, hygiene, and human rights in the Rohingya refugee camps. It also helps young Rohingya find ways and means of continuing their education.

Where?
Chittagong, Bangladesh and in refugee camps along the border with Burma.

Number of volunteers required?
One or two.

Other requirements?
Interest in working with refugees necessary. Interest in publicizing the plight of the Rohingya internationally and working politically important. Sensitivity - it can be difficult to work as a volunteer in Bangladesh. It can be difficult to guarantee the length of stay once there. So far, we have not managed to get a volunteer actually to RYDF as the political situation affects the safety situation.

Minimum length of stay?
Six months. Start date flexible.

Benefits?
Safe affordable accommodation provided by RYDF, which the volunteer(s) must pay for.

Volunteer tasks?
Teaching basic English, human rights, health and hygiene in the refugee camps, and tutoring the older youth in other academic subjects. Working in the Chittagong office and helping administratively.

RYDF provides supplemental education in areas of health care, hygiene, and human rights in the Rohingya refugee camps. It also helps young Rohingya find ways and means of continuing their education.
